Silver Jewellery Making - Improvers - 2 day course
Develop your silver jewellery making skills in this two day intermediate / improvers level class.
This two day class will cover working with copper and silver, including cutting, shaping, soldering and finishing the metal. Students will explore ways of shaping and forming the metal to create sculptural forms; makingchains, as well as to start to create simple stone setting/s.
What we will cover is flexible and will depend on students interests and designs, we will always cover improving soldering and polishing / finishing skills, but students can also choose to explore topics from this selection;
- using doming punches and stakes to form metal into new shapes
- getting started with stone settings
- making contemporary chains
- chemical etching to create surface patterns
Suitable for anyone who has already tried silver jewellery making, for example as a beginners class or short course, or who would like a refresher to get them re-started.
Class size - maximum of 3 people
Class held in my Camden, central London jewellery studio and runs from 10am to 5pm on each day.
Also available as 1-1 private tuition at a date and time to suit you.
All materials needed including silver and gemstones are included in the price.
Tea, coffee and cold drinks and nibbles are available all day. Lunch is available from any of the many local cafes
