Beginners - Wrapped Pebbles Class
This is a short taster class designed for beginners to create their own gorgeous wrapped Zen pebble / decorated rock.
Students will make at least one (probably more) of their own decorated pebbles - using natural rattan fibre, with the addition of twigs / nails / washers to add further detail.
To create these wrapped designs, we work with rattan - traditionally used for basket weaving. The rattan strips are soaked to become flexible, and tightly wrapped around the pebbles while they are wet. Once the ends are all tucked in and trimmed, the piece can dry out and be enjoyed yourself, or given as a gift.
We will cover up to 3 different designs for the wrapping and you'll get to choose from a selection of different pebbles to try these out on.
Class size - maximum of 3 people
Class runs either from 6.30 - 9pm or from 2 - 4.30pm - check the date info below.
My workshop is in Camden Town which has hundreds of great cafes and shops, as well as the famous markets - also close to London Zoo and the British Museum if you'd like to make a day of it, or grab some food before / after!
The workshop is downstairs so will be difficult for students with mobility problems - if this would be a problem for you - please check before booking.
Great as a taster session for anyone thinking about starting to get creative with making more decorated pebbles at home, or with macrame or basket weaving related skills.
This class is held in my Camden, central London, jewellery studio and runs roughly every other month. The session is also available as private tuition at a date and time to suit you.
All materials needed are included in the price and your creations are of course yours to take home.
Tea, coffee, cold drinks and nibbles are available throughout.
