Stone Setting - Claws and Shaped Bezels
No dates currently available - face to face teaching is suspended while social distancing measures are recommended. Dates will be added again once the current emergency measures are lifted.
Develop your silver jewellery making skills in this two day intermediate level class.
This course will cover making a claw 'basket' setting as well as an informal claw setting and making bezel settings for shaped (not-round) stones. The course is designed to expand on soldering and fabrication skills for jewellers who are already comfortable creating a round bezel setting for cabochon stones.
What we will cover have flexibility depending on students own interests and experience, but will focus on creating at least two different, more complex mounts for gemstones, and setting the stones into them. Fabricating and using claws / prongs to set a round faceted stone, and setting your choice of shaped cabochon stone, and then variations on this skills.
Great for anyone who has already got some experience creating silver jewellery and would like to develop their skills further.
