Mixed Media Jewellery - 2 Day Course
No dates currently available - face to face teaching is suspended while social distancing measures are recommended. Dates will be added again once the current emergency measures are lifted.
Develop your jewellery making (and design) skills in this two day intermediate level class.
This course is a creative weekend, investigating and experimenting with working with a selection of alternative materials - using perspex, wood, textiles and much more, and how to connect them to, or use them with metals to create exciting new designs.
What we will cover will depend on the students choices throughout the weekend, but we will start with some exercises, working with different materials and creating contemporary designs. We will cover different ways of connecting different materials, including using tabs, rivets, and screws and students can expect to learn new skills as well as to freely experiment with designs and combinations.
Participants can decide whether to create a series of test pieces / samples or prototypes, or after the first day of experimenting, to work on specific designs to work towards a finished jewel.
Great for anyone who has already tried silver jewellery making, and would like to experiment with different ways of adding different textures, colours and materials into their creations..
