No dates currently available - face to face teaching is suspended while social distancing measures are recommended. Dates will be added again once the current emergency measures are lifted.
Develop your jewellery design skills in this two day course.
This course is a creative weekend, investigating and experimenting with ways of generating design ideas for jewellery making. Through a series of exercises and projects we will work through a variety of different approaches to creating and designing jewellery.
Starting with some some simple exercises, participants will work on a variety of challenges including:
- Researching design ideas
- Working with sketchbooks and scrapbooks
- Model making
- Testing and Prototyping
- Working to a commission
- Thinking about collections
- Functionality / Practicality -
** We will not be covering technical drawing or design rendering skills in this course, apart from in discussion - this course is about idea generation, design development, and refining designs, not drawing/presentation skills. We will also not be making finished items of jewellery - we will be working in sketchbooks, on the computer, on paper, and with various means of model making. **
Great for anyone who has some jewellery making skills, is interested in contemporary design and would like to learn more about and experiment with different design processes.
