Stitched Beadwork - Beaded Beads Workshop
No dates currently available - face to face teaching is suspended while social distancing measures are recommended. Dates will be added again once the current emergency measures are lifted.
Have fun with a day of stitched beadwork / bead weaving - create decorative focal beads for your jewellery designs using a needle, thread and tiny seed beads.
This course introduces using Peyote stitch, which is one of the most versatile stitches in bead weaving - we will create two separate discs with increases to create a cover for a plain wooden bead. We will also discuss pattern options and variations, as well as the key skills of working with bead weaving - securing and adding in new threads, as well as ideas for using the completed beads.
Participants will make one finished bead that could be strung into a necklace / bracelet, or hung as a charm, but depending on experience, may also make additional started pieces or tests. Quick workers may make a pair of beads to create earrings.
Great for both anyone who has already tried beading or bead weaving, or for those with no jewellery experience at all yet.
