The idea is to have fun, challenge your own creative process, and create jewellery through collaboration. Think of the kids game of Consequences, but with jewellers...
Someone starts making a piece of jewellery, then passes it over to someone else for them to continue, then it is passed along again for a final person to complete the jewel.
Why did I initiate this? I love experimenting with ideas, different materials and design processes and thought it would be fun to work blind, with other jewellers to push me out of my comfort zone and an interesting challenge to my creativity. The results from the first challenge in 2016 were really exciting - better than I had hoped for, and it was definitely a challenge as the project progressed to try and work with materials and ideas I would never normally have used - great fun all round, and harder than it sounds!
You can see the results of our collaborations in the galleries on our website - at http://passitalongproject.weebly.com/ or our Facebook page at - www.facebook.com/PassItAlongProject
The 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 challenges each have their own gallery pages.
There is not a current challenge, but do join our newsletter for news of any future projects.
