What is Design?
Design is simply the process of decision making to create a piece of work - it could be a toaster, the latest IPhone, a piece of fine art, or a piece of jewellery.
How do you decide what to make, and make it the best version of it that you can, according to your own priorities and criteria...
Why Bother?
Simply - I hope - you want to make the best jewellery that you can!
If you take even just a little time to prepare and plan, you will find the rest of the process of creating your pieces easier too.
Design work allows you to try out different ideas, different sizes, styles, variations of your idea - work out how your clasp will be attached - how the piece will sit or hang on the body, the best size / scale for it and what elements go where,
You don't have to spend ages on design - you can spend as much time or as little as feels right to you - there are no rules... I suggest trying different ideas, and different ways of approaching your design, and see what works best for you...
